In August 2023, with the approval of the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, Shenzheng International Trade (Hainan) Co. Ltd. wholly acquired Manipal International University, Malaysia (MIU), renaming it as MILA University, Malaysia. Founded by the Manipal Education Group, MIU is a multidisciplinary, international comprehensive university in Malaysia that are offering master's and doctoral degrees, is open to students worldwide, and integrates a diverse range of programmes.  

Mila University has been awarded the top rating in SETARA's newly enhanced assessment, achieving the Competitive (Berdaya Saing) rating for 2022.
